About Kim Seekman
Publishing Industry Pioneer & Guinness World Record Holder
Kim (Blagg) Seekman, writing professionally as Roxie Maxx and producer of over 4,000 published books, holds the Guinness World Record for creating the first ebook in distribution, establishing her as the foundational figure in digital publishing history.
Revolutionary Innovation
Kim’s publishing journey began at age seven in the family newspaper business. She ran a hot lead Linotype, setting type for short articles and a section dedicated to Birthday Greetings. She also acted as courier to remove the folded newspapers out of the folder/slitter and carry them to the other end of the building to be stamped with subscriber’s names and addresses.
In 1988, she founded Tele-Type, enabling remote typesetting and graphic design control of printers nationwide. Kinko’s adopted this revolutionary technology for business clients. A decade later, in 1998, Kim founded an on-demand publishing company from zero investment, demonstrating her entrepreneurial vision and technical expertise. Within roughly one year, the company’s innovative approach attracted a $1 million acquisition offer—a testament to the transformative value of her digital publishing model. Her Guinness World Record ebook created the foundation for today’s multi-billion dollar digital publishing ecosystem while others remained focused on print.

Industry Recognition
Kim earned recognition at the highest levels of technology and publishing. Microsoft selected her for exclusive showcase at Book Expo. The VP of Xerox USA personally recruited her during the Salt Lake City Olympics. She became the only print-on-demand publisher permitted on Barnes & Noble shelves and the first company authorized to create color books for Ingram’s print-on-demand division.
Technical Mastery & Market Vision
Kim consistently identified market shifts years before competitors, from remote printing in 1988 through digital distribution in the 1990s, ghostwriting books in the 2000s, interactive multimedia in the 2010s, and sophisticated business platforms in the 2020s. Her expertise spans Adobe Creative Suite, interactive technology integration, cross-platform optimization, and emerging technologies.
