The Stolen Stitch

Description

In 1971, a needlework pattern of unusual complexity was submitted to a national crafting competition under a name that did not belong to the woman who created it. The real creator left Lakeside Pines Colony that same weekend and was not heard from again. The pattern won.

Fifty years later, the pattern appears in a newly published retrospective book. A woman living quietly at the colony recognizes it immediately. And three days after she makes a phone call to the publisher, she is dead.

The Stolen Stitch spans generations and requires its investigator to understand not just who took the credit, but who benefited from the silence that followed, and what the original creator left behind that someone still very much wants to keep buried.
